"As an avid romance reader, a book has to be excellent for me to read a second time. I have read this book twice and probably will Read it again in the future. I won’t go back over the synopsis, but what sets this book apart for me is the author takes a character, Gard, that at first glance you should absolutely hate and turns them into someone you are rooting for and sympathizing with. That type of characterization is rare and hard to find. I also liked the fact that the darkness of the era for the book wasn’t glossed over. It was not all unicorns and rainbows, but this book did have a hint of whimsy. I hope the author writes other historical romance because this book is definitely one of my favorite." - Amazon.com
