Cozy Mystery Release Tour + #Giveaway - The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series Book 6 - Christmas in The Sisters by Becki Willis @beckiwillis15

Christmas in The Sisters
The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series Book 6
by Becki Willis
Genre: Cozy Mystery

Latest book in the Award-Winning The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series!
Madison Reynolds can’t wait for Christmas this year. Rebuilding her life as a single mom hasn’t been easy, but after a challenging twelve months, she’s excited about the holidays. She and her twins have settled quite nicely here in The Sisters, renovations on the house are complete, her business is slowly growing, and, best of all, Chief of Police Brash deCordova is in her life. Visions of the perfect Christmas dance in her head.
The tinsel begins to tangle when someone targets the community for a series of ‘Christmas Crimes.’ Homes are broken into and wrapped gifts are stolen from beneath trees. Even vehicles loaded with presents aren’t safe, particularly on a lone stretch of highway. Things like this just don’t happen in Naomi and Juliet. Torn between solving the rash of burglaries and shutting down the gambling ring that’s active in the area again, Brash does the only thing he can: he hires In a Pinch to help with the investigation.
Finding the common link between cases is like finding the bad bulb on a string of lights. Every lead is a short circuit. The frustration mounts when Madison and the Angel Tree she’s involved with fall victim to the crimes. Only the worst kind of Grinch steals from needy children!
Brash has plans of his own for the perfect Christmas. With the help of a new jewelry store, he thinks he’s found just the right gift for Madison, until the Grinch strikes again. This wasn’t the surprise he had in mind.

Ready or not, Christmas is on its way, and time is running out to create the holiday of their dreams. As the house fills with unexpected guests, Madison and the twins honor favorite traditions from the past while creating a few new ones of their own.

Who has time for being kidnapped by men in Santa suits and bad beards?

This is one Christmas that no one in The Sisters will ever forget!

Crimson Footprints
by Shewanda Pugh
Genre: Romantic Suspense

On the night of her brother's murder, Deena Hammond stumbles upon Takumi Tanaka, lost and on the wrong end of a .32. After rescuing him from the certain fate driving through her neighborhood in a Porsche will bring, a sweet kind of friendship begins. A balm for her grief.

Maybe, Deena likes to think, it happened the day her mother killed her father. Or maybe, it was always a part of them, like DNA gone bad. Whatever the case, Deena knows that her family would never approve, hell, never acknowledge, her fast-growing love for Tak. And had he never made love to her in that unraveling, soul-searching sort of way, she could've done the same. But loves a devil that way. So, their game begins. One where they hide what they are from everyone. Anyone.

Tak understands this for now. After all, Deena's career hinges on the favor of her mentor and boss: his hard-ass of a father. And the Hammond family is already stretched thin with grief. Yet, each step Deena takes toward family and career brings her closer to an acceptance she’s never had—and away from him.

Shewanda Pugh's a tomboy who's been writing romance since an inappropriate age. While she's been shortlisted for a few awards and snagged a bestsellers list or two, there's nothing she enjoys more than hearing from her readers.

Release Tour + #Giveaway - A Queen from the North - Erin McRae and Racheline Maltese

A Queen From the North
A Royal Roses Book
by Erin McRae & Racheline Maltese
Genre: Contemporary Romance

It may be the 21st century, but in a not-so-united kingdom the wounds of the Wars of the Roses have never healed. The rivalry between the Yorkish north and Lancastrian south has threatened to pull the nation apart for over 500 years.

While the modern world struggles with fractures born of ancient conflict, Lady Amelia Brockett faces far more mundane problems. Known to her family as Meels, this youngest daughter of a Northern earl is having the Worst. Christmas. Ever. Dumped by her boyfriend and rejected from graduate school, her parents deem her the failure of the family.

But when her older brother tries to cheer her with a trip to the races, a chance meeting with Arthur, the widowed, playboy Prince of Wales, offers Amelia the chance to change her life -- and Britain's fortunes -- forever. Hunted by the press -- and haunted by Arthur's niece who fancies herself the kingdom's court witch -- Amelia finds herself adrift in a sea of paparazzi, politics, and prophecy.

With few allies beyond her allergic-to-horses sister-in-law, her best friend who has a giant crush on the prince, and the cute young receptionist at Buckingham Palace that calls himself her Royalty Customer Service Representative, Amelia must navigate a perilous and peculiar course to secure Arthur's love and become A Queen from the North.

Release Tour + #Giveaway Tender Echoes by @reily_garrett #thriller

TENDER ECHOES
A Dark Prequel to Digital Velocity
(The McAllister Justice Series Book 1)
by Reily Garrett

Genre: Suspense/Thriller

Theft of spirit is no one’s birthright.

A quirk of her X chromosome furnished Alexis with an edge few others enjoyed. After fate plunged her into orphan status and an intolerable foster home forced her to the streets, a group of prostitutes sheltered her from their vicious pimp. Seeing something special within, they nurtured and shielded her from their harsh reality until she could forge her own path in life.

Destiny frequently takes us back to our roots. Lexi’s return journey begins when a serial killer attacks one of her adopted sisters. Relying on courage and wit, she must stay a step ahead and secure evidence to free her family from a psychopathic murderer.

“Jesus, Charlie. Hold on. I’ll get you to a hospital.” Lexi swallowed hard against the rising tide of acid degrading her throat’s lining as the unfolding scene corrupted her sanity. Pressure against the makeshift bandage on Charlie’s belly wound yielded a deeper crimson soaking her jacket, the provisional dressing secured by fingers encased in a thickening, sticky glove. So much blood.

This could’ve been Lexi’s fate—stabbed, slashed, disfigured for all time, blood forming rivulets pooling in the alley’s filth. Maroon puddles mingled with body fluids common to alleys sheltering the homeless as if destined to couple in a macabre, virulent concoction.

“R-run, Lexi. D-don’t let him make you a w-whore. I wasn’t—strong enough. Y-you were never p-part of the street life.” Trash and other filth from the narrow passageway cushioned Charlie’s bruised and battered head. One front tooth was missing, probably swallowed, while blood seeped from jagged slashes on her cheeks and brow, both career enders in the event she survived. “You shouldn’t be here. It was a mistake to text you, but the cops wouldn’t believe us girls.”

“Did your pimp do this, Charlie? What’s his real name?” Tell me so I can help you.

Remnants of a cardboard box, a vagabond’s homemade privy, retained odors of the dispossessed, rivaled only by the excrement saturating every molecule of thickened air drawn into her lungs. This was no place and no way to die.

“Yeah—said I stole from a customer. But I didn’t. The b-bastard just wanted a freebie.” Otherworldly pain glazed eyes forecasting a nonexistent future while icy wind leached color from a once-beautiful face now smeared with crimson streaks and pain. “Won’t tell you his name. I didn’t want to die alone. You’re f-free. You made it.”

“No, Charlie. I’ll get help. Lie still while I secure a pressure dressing.” This late at night, there’d be few cars to flag down and no foot traffic from which to enlist help. She was forced to rely on emergency personnel who’d classify the incident as NHI, no human involved.

Terror-induced flashbacks spewed forth of a stranger offering refuge to a teenager standing on a precipice, a choice. She’d first thought him relatively handsome, not understanding the slimy base of his character. She’d had no experience with pimps. Still, something inside steered her away from his pleasant façade. Perhaps she’d sensed his underlying character. Instinct had directed her to the unknown, where a small group of prostitutes offered shelter and nurtured her mind.

With one hand, Lexi freed her belt and maneuvered it under the fallen girl’s tiny waist amid groans and mewling cries. Youth and a livelihood from flatbacking necessitated a svelte figure, which facilitated her efforts to cinch the leather strap tight. Lexi reached for the cell clutched in Charlie’s hand, knowing the late hour meant a longer wait for help. Her fingers, covered in sticky crimson ropes of blood, tangled briefly with Charlie’s, a squishy squeeze to lend encouragement. Another bolus of acid rose in her throat.

“No.” One word spoken from the disembodied voice behind her could flash freeze Hell and instigate the formation of ice crystals in any world, under any circumstance.

Horses were one of my first loves, and writing soon followed. As a child, I spent hours writing poems, and short stories (about horses). My parents realized that I was horse-obsessed and decided to buy me one after taking riding lessons for two years. I think they hoped that all of the hard work, and hours spent mucking stalls would help me give up this expensive hobby. They were wrong. Writing is still a passion of mine, although now I primarily write fiction. My first novel, Red Rock, was published in 2010, and big surprise, there are horses in it. My second novel, The Three Month Plan was released August 2013.
Other Loves: My family, yoga, skincare and makeup, sushi, and raising money for pediatric cancer. I have two rescue dogs and would have more if there weren’t zoning restrictions. I’m always trying something new, as I tend to get bored very easily. Thankfully, my love of driving around with the gas light on fuels some excitement. I love novels with happy endings, and am a hopeful romantic. My latest obsession is browsing Netflix, and I can name all 50 states in alphabetical order in under 30 seconds. Do I feel a wager coming on?

Excerpt 3 Dragon´s Quest

Liu cut, slashed, sliced, chopped, and stabbed; soldiers fell down and regenerated quickly keeping them busy. Jiu Huan Do worked efficiently, but Liu needed much more to get a chance against the immortals. His enemies were brutal, and the fight became bloody. They might not survive. The only noise Liu could hear was the blades’ clank when one particular sound caught his attention, the whistle of an arrow cutting the air, traveling across the room in slow motion to hit Kate´s chest.

Kate´s hands held the arrow; her supplicant eyes met Liu´s for a split second and, still in slow motion, she slumped on the floor. Liu darted to her; he jumped in the air, spun his right arm, hit a soldier who approached Kate, putting him out of combat for a while and landed on the floor near Kate.

He nestled her in his arms. Kate´s lips moved without making any sound; her eyelids blinked nervously to close; her limp body collapsed against his. She was bleeding. The sound of the blades became distant as if the battle were in another dimension. Wei protected them; his brother was doing a good job. Little by little, those soldiers and Wei became distant too; there were only shadows in front of Liu´s flooded eyes.

Kate was right; that Palace smelled like death. She cautioned him, and he didn´t listen to her. Now she was dying in his arms. She is dying in my arms! It couldn´t be true, it was just a bad joke. How would he live without her? He wouldn´t, there was no life, no world without Kate.

Claps brought Liu back to reality. A man who didn´t fight stood near him with a smile of satisfaction on his face. The immortal General. Liu could recognize a general´s armor anywhere, any circumstance.

Anger raised inside Liu. He laid Kate on the floor, turned to grab his weapon, spun the sword and with a leap he placed the blade against the General´s throat. Liu coerced him. “Order them to put the weapons down.”

The General shifted to react. Liu pressed the sword more on his throat. “Don´t.” Liu threatened.

“I am immortal,” the General bragged.

“I know, but I´d like to know what might happen if I cut your head off.” That was the point; they didn´t consider that option. Certainly, the soldiers would take more time to recover their lives.

The General obeyed him and commanded the soldiers in an ancient language. The warriors lowered their weapons and stepped back giving them more space.

Wei ran to Kate; he knelt beside her and cushioned her head. Liu wanted to split Wei´s head from his body too, or cut his claws off, only then would Wei stay away from Kate. Though if Liu didn´t do something to save her no one would touch her again, so Liu turned his attention to the General.

Liu pressed the blade on his throat once more. “She´s dying. I want the elixir of immortality.”

The immortal giggled. “There is no elixir.”

“I know the legends, if you exist, the elixir is also real.” Liu´s sword scratched the General´s throat.

“It finished decades ago,” he muttered under the press of the blade.

“Where is the garden with the Peach Tree?” Liu asked through gritted teeth. He recognized the dangers of that place, he could die, however, he had no choice.

“You were instructed very well,” the General chuckled. “I´d like to help her. I´d be glad with her presence; you know, you only can live forever here, but the fruit appears only once every six thousand years, and I am sure we must wait more…” He leaned his head back, put the index finger on his upper lip, and whispered some numbers. “Two thousand years.”

Liu lowered the sword feeling defeated that instant. Kate was dying, he had to do something, he couldn´t just cross his arms and watch her leave. “Do you have power to heal her?”

The General shook his head in denial.

I´m Cyci Cade and I write urban fantasy and fiction novels for young adult.

I´ll never forget the first time I wrote a story; I was in fifth grade. That experience enchanted me. What should be an insignificant composition became a four pages flash story. My teacher didn´t like it very much, but who cared? She did.

Well, I had to shorten my compositions. However, it didn´t discourage me; on the contrary, it made me try harder. I like a good challenge. I like to try new things; some of them don´t work as I expect, but it doesn´t matter. I always learn new things.

I started writing articles for magazines, newspapers, and blogs. I wrote my first book in 2010 and published it in 2012. It was so amazing that I didn´t stop anymore. Writing makes me happy.

I have received 5 stars reviews from professional websites, and remarkable comments that have encouraged me.

During my free time, I like reading, watching TV series, and movies.

I live in Brazil and I have a cat named Angel. I love cats too.

Welcome to my world!
