Brianna Sugalski

Genre: YA Dark Fantasy Romance

A Breton princess at the peak of the French Renaissance, Lilac lives prisoner in her parents' castle after a wicked secret is revealed on the eve of her tenth birthday soirée. Years later, her coronation ceremony looms, and between the riotous townsfolk and scheming nobleman bent on snatching the throne, Lilac prepares for the worst...

Until a mysterious letter arrives from The Witch of Lupine Grotto, detailing a curious offer to cure her darkness forever. Lilac begrudgingly trades her coronet for a cloak and ventures into the forest Brocéliande in pursuit of the impious enchantress at the edge of town. With only the protection of an inherited dagger-and, unsolicited help of the sardonic stranger who inserts himself on her quest-she must traverse Brocèliande and return in time to claim her rightful position as sovereign monarch.

This is the story of a cursed princess,
A crestfallen killer,
The town that wants them to burn,
And the witch that can save them both.

With an education in Mass Communication--and an engrossment in all that is curious and bewitching--Brianna Sugalski is an author and blog editor at the Parliament House Press.

The Filipino-American author was born and raised on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, but travels the country every few years with her husband and two children. She admires the luminaries of the Victorian Era; growing up reading period literature, folklore, and fables has inspired her to paint vibrant settings of nature and narratives that readers will hopefully enjoy.

Ultimately, she aspires to make her own readers laugh, to challenge their perspectives on society and systemic prejudice, and to help them discover the magical meaning of their own powers within.

Book Tour + #Giveaway - Heather's Turn [The Carnies Series, Bk 1] by Christina Leigh Pritchard @teeny120 #YoungAdult #Thriller

Heather's Turn
The Carnie Series Book 1
by
Christina Leigh Pritchard
Genre: YA Thriller

Alice failed. Now it's Heather's turn.

Did you ever hear the old saying, Ignorance is Bliss? That's how it was for Heather and her friends. Life at the carnival was normal. Then, one small event, catapulted them into reality–into what they really were…

Freaks.

Heather and her friends discover just how strange they are when they’re forced to step into our world. They see what life is like in various cultures and unravel a dark history that's been buried deep by their relatives. When they learn the truth, can they forgive and move on? Or will the hate consume them like it did their parents? Will they find the same misfortune as Alice who was hanged for trying to change the world? Or will their bond of friendship be too strong to allow the world around them to corrupt the way they view each other?

Voted "New and Noteworthy" by USA Book News, Christina Leigh Pritchard was born and raised in South Florida where she's penned over fifty stories.

She's recently signed with Limitless Publishing for her ALMOST Series, takes on contract work, and continues writing her books.

Her style is any genre, as long as it's character driven where both hero and villain are not clearly defined. Pritchard says that she wants "...her characters to linger in a reader's mind, rather than be easily forgotten". She loves to create new worlds and prefers to venture outside the box. With a short attention span, she writes stories that move quickly, absorb their reader into her world, and usually receives comments that the story was too short.

SCRIBES
The Scribe Cycle #1

Pawns in an endless war, scribes are feared and worshipped, valued and exploited, prized and hunted. But there is only one whose powers can determine the fate of the world . . .

Born into the ruins of Rzolka’s brutal civil unrest, Anna has never known peace. Here, in her remote village—a wasteland smoldering in the shadows of outlying foreign armies—being imbued with the magic of the scribes has made her future all the more uncertain.

Through intricate carvings of the flesh, scribes can grant temporary invulnerability against enemies to those seeking protection. In an embattled world where child scribes are sold and traded to corrupt leaders, Anna is invaluable. Her scars never fade. The immunity she grants lasts forever.

Taken to a desert metropolis, Anna is promised a life of reverence, wealth, and fame—in exchange for her gifts. She believes she is helping to restore her homeland, creating gods and kings for an immortal army—until she witnesses the hordes slaughtering without reproach, sacking cities, and threatening everything she holds dear. Now, with the help of an enigmatic assassin, Anna must reclaim the power of her scars—before she becomes the unwitting architect of an apocalyptic war.

Book Tour + #Giveaway - Black Ruins Blood - by Karen DuBose @AuthorKDuBose #DarkFantasy

Black Ruins Blood
The Elder Series Book 2
by Karen DuBose
Genre: Dark Fantasy

I thought coming to the Black Ruins Forest would give me the answers to the questions I so desperately needed. Instead I have more questions and no answers.

Now here I am trying to figure out how to destroy the oldest and strongest dragons who are the Elders to become the next ruler of Zilo. No problem, right? Yeah, not as easy as it sounds.

The forest will only keep us a safe for so long before the Elders find out where we are. If they find us, we are all dead. So, here we sit trying to figure out a way to make it through alive.

The best part out of all of this I've gained a huge family I never knew I wanted and the worst part is now I have more enemies I never even knew existed. Around every turn there is something or someone else we need to deal with.

Fate really hates me! She twisted my lifecycle apart and spit me out. I will never be the same person again. That's what scares me the most.

Black Ruins Forest

The mysterious guy who's been in her dreams turns out to be real and he works at her firm. Her best friend and protector, Kira, will stop at nothing to make sure Dariya is safe from harm, but the elders have other plans. This is one of those books that leaves you wanting more. - S.S

I am, first and foremost, a storyteller and an artist--words are my palette. Fantasy is my genre of choice, and I love to explore the darker side of human nature through the filter of fantasy heroes, villains, and everything in between. I'm also a freelance writer, a book lover, and a guy who just loves to meet new people and spend hours talking about my fascination for the worlds I encounter in the pages of fantasy novels.

Fantasy provides us with an escape, a way to forget about our mundane problems and step into worlds where anything is possible. It transcends age, gender, religion, race, or lifestyle--it is our way of believing what cannot be, delving into the unknowable, and discovering hidden truths about ourselves and our world in a brand new way. Fiction at its very best!

Book Tour + #Giveaway - Nightlord Series - Garon Whited @GaronWhited Urban Fantasy, Paranormal

Sunset

Nightlord Series Book 1
by Garon Whited
Genre: Urban Fantasy, Paranormal

Eric didn't ask to be a vampire. In fact, he didn't even believe in them. Then he meets a beautiful woman, wakes up with a hangover, and bites his tongue with his own fangs.

Which pretty much settles the question.

Now he's trying to hold down his day job while learning the rules of the Undead -- the most important being that bloodthirsty urges and predatory instincts are a real bitch.

Upside; Eric has the beautiful Sasha to teach him the ropes, including the magic he'll need to survive.

Downside; they're being hunted by members of the Church of Light, who are determined to rid the world of vampires.

When Sasha is killed, and Eric is thrust into an alternate world in his quest to avenge her death. There he becomes a Nightlord, fights a dragon with the help of his magical steed, Bronze, and upchucks a sword named Firebrand.

But things get really interesting when Eric finally finds Tobias, head of the Church of Light. Soon Eric finds himself at the center of an epic battle at the literal edge of the world in a fight to keep a terrible darkness at bay.

"When you fall off the Edge of the World into hordes of demonic Things from the Outer Darkness, you really start to wonder about your life choices."

--Eric, part-time undead, expectant father, and short-term astronaut.

Shadows
Nightlord Series Book 2

“I’ve awakened in a stone box about the size of a large coffin… I’m filthy, everything aches, and, by the various so-called gods, I smell awful.

“I’ve woken up in worse places.

“Hmm. What does that say about my life choices?”

—Eric, amateur magician, part-time vampire, and accidental king.

It's not easy, being King. Especially when you've got an allergy to sunrise and sunset, a fire-goddess for a mother-in-law, demonic adversaries, random assassins, and a basement full of insecurities to cope with.

Add to that his daughter, the fire-priestess/princess, a couple of lightly-deranged professional magicians, a whole city full of wizards, and enough squabbling princes to resemble a kindergarten argument.

It's enough to make a man want to just go home.

Luckily for Eric, he has the world's fastest pet rock, a smart-mouthed sword, and a horse that not only understands him, but likes him anyway.

“An awful lot of young ladies seem to be up all night, wandering around the halls on the off-chance they’ll bump into the King when he’s in the mood for a snack. Since when did I become sexy? And why didn’t anybody warn me it was going to be work?”

—Eric, elder geek and occasional idiot.

Orb
Nightlord Series Book 3

We all have inner demons. We fight them all the time. Some of us achieve inner peace by coming to terms with them.

But how do you come to terms with inner demons that tear free and become outer demons?

Eric has been a vampire for nearly a century, and his demons are more than metaphors. While they controlled him, he was the Demon King. Now he has to avoid the monsters in his own mind, as well as angry nobles, fanatical religions, assassins, magi, other vampires, criminal organizations, and the neighborhood gossip.

He wants two things: To find Tort, and to have someplace to call home.

It may be too much to ask.

Knightfall
Nightlord Series Book 4

It's not easy, being King. You can't always rule a kingdom and still do what needs to be done.

Eric--or King Halar, also known as the Demon King--has more than enough problems without the crown.

But quitting the job of King isn't easy, either--unless you want to be beheaded. Most people regard that as an unsatisfactory way to quit. Even vampire lords tend to be cautious about guillotines. A King who loses his head has a real problem... or none at all.

It's time to sort some of these problems out, settle a few more, and kill the rest.

But at what cost?

"Knightfall" is the fourth book of the "Nightlord" series. It picks up exactly where the previous book, "Orb," ends, and carries on with an adventure of epic proportions!

Garon Whited was supposedly born in either 1969 or 1970; the original birth certificate is suspiciously unavailable and other records do not agree.

After spending some years in college playing with computers, he finally joined a radical group of jellyfish herding nomads. Having fought zombie dolphins, quasi-corporeal spirits, and brain-sucking mole rats, he is uniquely qualified to write fantastic fiction. His subsequent attempts at professional salsa repairman and ley line salesman met with similar success. He claims to live in Texarkana, on Earth, but people have been known to disagree.
